Iron Maiden: The Immortal Number of the Beast official release video...what a flashback!!

Iron Maiden. The Number of the Beast. This was one of my first forays into the Heavy Metal scene. I bought this album at K-Mart and went home to play it on my Lone Ranger record player. Hey, give me a break! I was like 9 in 1982! Anyway, this video has alot going for it. The visual aspects for the time are pretty well thought out. The lyrics for this song are alot more involved than whats on the surface....look em up and think about em!

This was the first album recorded with Bruce Dickinson after the departure of Paul Di'Anno and his vocal range and charisma really let Maiden spread their wings and fly off to greatness. Their carrer after this album skyrocketed to immortal status. Check out the Cover art at the bottom, if you ever wanted to apply the word epic to an album cover, this would be the one to do it to!

Lamb of God – Redneck – a “Punk band playing Heavy Metal”

From Richmond, Virginia; its Lamb of God with the video for “Redneck”, off the 2006 album “Sacrament”, kicks some serious ass. Labeled as a Groove Metal band, they are self described as a “Punk band playing Heavy Metal.”

Christian Metal Sunday - Demon Hunter – Collapsing – Surprisingly Heavy Metal

I've deemed Sunday to be Christian Metal Sunday to promote a lesser appreciated side of the Metal Genre. To be honest, until I researched Christian Metal for this blog I was bit ignorant of it myself. I was pleasantly surprised. I am glad I was able to be turned on to another form of the music I enjoy and as per the purpose of this blog.....I can widen my interests and introduce them to all who follow this blog.

This is Demon Hunter, the Christian Metal Band from Seattle, with "Collapsing" off their 2010 album "The World is a Thorn." I am thoroughly impressed with them and will add their discography to my MP3 player. I hope you are too !!

Celtic Frost - Circle of Tyrants - One of Metal Musics most influential bands

Celtic Frost, hailing from Switzerland, started and perfected some of the earliest forms of Black, Death and Doom Metal Music. They influenced generations of musicians and their music is still powerful today. Circle of Tyrants is off the To Mega Therion album, a treasure trove of classic metal, dropped in '85.

This band was one of my first introductions into the "less than mainstream" Metal Genres and to this day remain one of my favorites.
